Does MadDonna deserve her name?

Dsc00538

I'll let you decide.  Guess who? Look at Harvey's face, top right.

He is thinking 'What is she doing?'.  He wasn't the only one.

Donna, in the spirit of Bank Holiday BBQ fun, rose to the challenge to climb through Harvey's tunnel.

She got a bit stuck.  Ha ha! Never a dull moment, I can tell you.

Below is the only half-decent snap taken of Harvey, and even that is dogged by a snotty nose I am afraid. Hey ho.

Out to lunch

Again. Harvey took the opportunity to model a new range of facial accessories.  We have the spinach side-burn

and the ice-cream beard

most fetching.

The vehicular obsession took a step further today when Harv was introduced to the JCB song.  He watched it intently and then signed for more as soon as it was finished.  As lovely as it is, after eight goes we decided enough was enough.  Sadly Harv didn't agree and he went bananas.

Off to a barbecue at Helen and Ian's tomorrow, so hopefully something bloggable will happen.

Grandma, your shopping list has been shopped.

Oh yes, I must remember to write about Big Ted soon....

Animals

Tomorrow is 'Teddy bears picnic ' day at Nursery.  In preparation, I have washed 'Dog' - Harvey's favourite cuddly.

The family are here at the moment.  Molly has spent the morning making a little gift for Nibbles, her pet hamster.

Dsc00514a

and here it is.  Molly asked us how to spell the noise you make when you breath in through your nostrils.  She wrote the answer on the envelope of Nibbles' present, along with a picture of 7 pine nuts.

This is just fab.  Turn the volume up and enjoy.  Thanks to nephew Lee.

Harvey goes to London

Despite horrendous weather, Harv and I went to London today.  DON'T have a cow, grandparents - we did not go near a Tube, we took the train to King's Cross and walked the rest of the way.  The purpose of the trip was to go to lunch with Helen and the rest of the gang from the Biochemical Society and Portland Press, to say farewell to Helen as she goes on maternity leave.

We went to a lovely Italian restaurant, where Harv devoured spaghetti bolognase, Gorgonzola and spinach pasta (mine, I might add) and ice-cream.  Followed by some of Helen's chocolate brownie.

Harv had a great time, and very much appreciated being entertained by John M from Finance (thanks for the Abacus John!!).

On our return to King's Cross platform 11, I noticed a new platform, and so we stopped for a snap...

I decided to take another and......

Dsc00506

He'd gone to to Hogwarts! As you can imagine, I panicked.  Luckily, the mistake was realised and he was sent back as 17 months and 3 weeks is too young to go to school, even for a Wizard of Harv's standard.  Harvey, sadly, did not agree and had a sad look on his face on the train home....

He is WALKING!

and running!!!! So say Nursery, anyway.  He went off to Nursery this afternoon and spent the afternoon kissing his pals Ben and Emily.  After a tea of vegetable tortilla and rice pudding Harvey decided he could walk.  Hoorayyyyyyyyyyyyy! We are very pleased indeed. Davin and I have seen him totter a few steps, so are looking forward to tomorrow when we hope to see lots of running.  No pictures of the walking child yet, but took this one after bath time.

4.56 am

This was the time Harvey woke this morning.  WHY?

There was no getting him back to sleep in his room, so poor old Davin was banished to the spare bedroom whilst I tried to get Harv to fall asleep with me in our bed.  Fool I am.  He then stayed awake for 2 hours, until he fell off of our bed and knocked some sense into himself.  After a cuddle and lots of 'you're OK, you just fell off the bed' Harv gave up and fell asleep. Hoorah.  I then managed to sleep from 7 am until about 8.30.  We are hoping he will have got out of the crazy waking phase before we go to France, or else Helen and Ian may change their minds about coming with us.  I would not blame them.

We had hoped that a day at the Zoo would have worn Harvey out.  Apparently not.  The Zoo was great.  They have a new 'Mythical Beasts' section.  We saw Minotaurs, a Unicorn, a Sphinx, and my personal favourite, these man-eating deer (not sure of their correct name):

See how evil they look.

Whipsnade6

We were lucky enough to catch the Woolly Mammoths out for their afternoon stroll

The best bit of the day for Harvey was stealing Leo's lolly.

Photos today are courtesy of MadDonna as the batteries were flat on our camera.  I know how it feels.

I've got a brand new Combined Harvester

As you know, Harv loves vehicles.  Have I told you he has to touch every white van we see parked?  Well, he does.  Weird.

Today we saw a Combined Harvester whilst out taking Charlie for a walk.  This made Harv very happy indeed.  Incidentally, it is 7:50 pm and the monkey is still awake.  This is what we get for trying to wean him off the night-time bottle.  Wide-awakeness.

Here is a photo to prove the vehicular obsession.

Free to good home

One hardly used 17 and a half month old boy.  Blonde, and well built with good sense of humour.  Excels at monkey noises and playing with toy cars.  Reason for sale: keeps waking at 4 am and staying awake.  Would suit insomniac.  Here is a photo of said child taken at 6.30 am this morning.

Dsc00483

He is playing happily with jingle bells.  I was lying on the sofa, groaning.  This had better be a phase he is going through.  No more energy to post.  ZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

World's strongest baby

Today we went to Pizza Express for lunch with Kat, Tom and Mad Donna.  Harvey was nuts, as you will see from the photos below.  Tom decided to try to make a bid for freedom, but was thwarted by the revolving doors.  Brave effort lad.

Dsc00465

The boys seemed to have fun, despite the attempted escape

Dsc00473

Harv is still obsessed by anything with wheels, and he is still obsessed with performing for the camera. Although, why the wonky smile I don't know.

Dsc00471

Seems that all this took it out of our first born.  Bless. Time for bed.  Have a lovely weekend xxx

A simple bowl of leaves

This post has nothing to do with leaves.  It just seemed like an interesting title.

It is 8 pm and Harv is still awake.  We can hear him quietly chatting to himself  "teee deee tee de ha ha ha laa tee..." etc. Davin has gone up stairs to investigate what is going on.  I should have know he'd be trouble as he was hyper when I collected him from Nursery.  All of the children were out in the garden and Harv was inside some kind of plastic Wendy house.  One of the other kids wanted in.  Harv, to my horror, shoved him outside and shut the door.  Oh well, better than being a push-over I guess.

Yesterday was spent at Standalone Farm.  Harv is a dab hand at feeding the chickens grain (20p a bag!!!)

Dsc00446

He is also quite nifty with the tractors

Dsc00448

8.20 pm now and he is STILL awake.
