We have been on holiday. Here. It is true what they say. Kids do love it.
Harvey especially loved meeting Bob the Builder, Wendy, Spud and Pilchard. In Bob's Yard. Really. His YARD. It was huge. We were a little worried on day one, as we settled down to watch Bob's show. Harvey looked on in horror and started saying "He's too big. He's TOO BIG". Then followed the tears. I had to agree. Bob and his crew - at around 6 feet tall - were too big. We were a bit concerend as we had paid (in advance) £30 for Harvey to be invited to a special party with Bob and crew. Luckily, on the day of the event, Harvey managed to muster some courage, and after a wobbly start, mananged to shake hands with Bob and Spud, stroke giant-sized Pichard the cat, and even kiss Wendy. He played 'pass-the-parcel' with Spud, had lunch and finally left the party clutching his very special 'Bob the Builder- Butlins' ruck-sack. Something he will love for a very long time.
The best thing about Butlins for us, was the free fun fair. Harvey was allowed to get on a ride, and stay on. For as long as he liked. So that is what he did. For 4 days. Round and round and round and round and round he went. By day 3 'the Butlins effect' meant he was exhausted.
And, as if Red Coats, Bob, Fun fairs, every night having tea and "just a little bit of beer please Daddy", weren't enough, Bognor has a fabulous beach.
